Ruby Nell Hammer

Ruby N. Hammer, 88, of Glasgow went to be with the lord Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at TJ Samson Community Hospital. Born December 30th, 1927 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Gum Brown and Pearl Emberton Brown. Ruby was retired from Mallory Corporation and was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. She was a kind, loving, and giving person who adored her family and enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her late husband Royce D. Hammer, son Johnny R. Hammer, daughter Sarah E. Soards, grandson David Hammer, Jr. and six beloved sisters and one brother. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Tate, of Monroe, NC; two sons, Michael Hammer and David Hammer (Martha Gibbons) both of Glasgow; 14 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 11am until 2pm at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2:00 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens
