Runelle Smothers

Runelle Sherfey Smothers 78 of Bowling Green, KY died Wednesday February 2, 2011 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. She was born in Mt. Hermon, KY a daughter of the late Don Carlos and Rachel Ida Oliver Sherfey. She had lived in California from 1964 until 1992 when she and her family moved to Bowling Green. She was a beautician and a homemaker and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Frank Smothers; 1 daughter Rachelle Siebert and husband Paul of Bowling Green; 1 granddaughter Cheyenne Hope Siebert of Bowling Green; a sister Liza Jane Cary of Bowling Green and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Charlie, Haskell and Edward Sherfey and three sisters, June Poynter, Jewell Copas and Cecil Sherfey. Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Saturday, Feb. 5th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
