Russell Edwin Franklin 80 of Glasgow, KY died Thursday December 9, 2004 at his home. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Charlie and Clara Culver Franklin. Russell was a lifelong farmer and was retired from the Sorensen Mfg. Company in Glasgow. He was a veteran of WWII having served under General Patton as an advanced scout and sharpshooter. He attended the Glasgow Bible Church where he was known as 'the candy man'. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy Pedigo Franklin; 2 daughters Terri Thomas and husband Danny of Glasgow and Tammy Hearn and husband John of Corpus Christi, TX; 4 grandchildren Angela and Kaitlin Thomas and Laramie and Russell Hearn; 1 brother Wayne Franklin of Glasgow; 1 sister Louise Taylor of Scottsville, KY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday December 11, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin after 11:00am Friday at A. F. Crow & Son.
