Ruth Barton

Ruth Jewell Barton 93 of Glasgow died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County, the daughter of the late Garner and Ruth Carver Jewell and wife of the late Jim Barton. She is survived by her son Danny Britt and wife Rene` of Austin, TX; 3 grandchildren Eric (Missy) Britt of Cave City, Kevin (Tommie) Britt of Scottsville and Jason Britt of Austin; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; daughter-in-law Vicki Britt of Cave City; 1 brother Harry Jewell (Lou Jean) of Austin; 2 sisters Shirley Devasher (Wallace) of Bowling Green and Follis Jewell of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son Joe David Britt; two sisters Irene Britt and Mildred Jewell and six brothers George, Gene, Rodney, Woody, Neal and T. J. Jewell. Mrs. Barton chose cremation and her remains buried with her family in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. There will be no public visitation or service. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
