Ruth Cox

Ruth Depp Cox, 92, formerly of Glasgow, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minn., after an extended illness. She was born February 7, 1919, at Summer Shade to parents Carlisle Brown Depp and Nora Hope Depp. Ruth graduated from Glasgow Jct. High School and attended Western Kentucky State Teachers College. She taught at one-room schools at Fairview and Bon Ayr. She married Morris Martin Cox in 1942. During his work in the defense industry they lived in Oklahoma and Minnesota before settling in Richland, Wash. After his death in 1963, she brought her family back home to Glasgow. She taught for several years as a substitute teacher in the Glasgow schools, and worked as an admissions clerk at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She left Kentucky in 1996 to live with her daughter in Greenville, N.C. They moved to Minnesota in 2007. Ruth
