Ruth Simmons

Ruth Simmons, age 85, of Glasgow, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at her residence. She was born March 2, 1938, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Moody Rigsby and the late Lucille (Depp) Rigsby. Ruth worked at Barren County Glass and was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Delmer and Ruth met in school and became high school sweethearts and had a one-of-a-kind love that people envied. She loved cooking, reading, golf and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they brought her great joy.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Delmer Simmons; daughters, Sheila Foster (Gary), Tammy Groce (Tommy); son, Todd Simmons; grandchildren, Adam Groce (Renee), Tara Foster Brown (Chris), Tyla Groce Esterle (Brad), Nick Foster (Rachel), Kayla Foster Biles (Stephen) and Tate Simmons; nine great grandchildren; brother, Roger Denny Rigsby (Debbie); and several nieces and nephews, along with brothers in law and sisters in law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special nephew, Brian Simmons.

The funeral service for Mrs. Simmons will be held on Thursday, October 19, 11:00 AM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Barbour Simmons Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 18, 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and then on Thursday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
