Ruth Ward

Ruth Laverne Ward 96 of Glasgow died Monday, December 6, 2010 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren Co. she is a daughter of the late Roy & Ada Bushong Poore and wife of the late Lewin Chester Ward. Mrs. Ward was a former self employed hairdresser and member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister Lorene Troxall of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews including locally by five nephews and a niece, Ronald Ward, Reggie Ward, Keith Troxall, Jimmy Poore, Billy Poore and Janet Broady. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Louella Glass and a brother Leon Poore. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday morning until time for the service.
