Samuel D. Davis 73 of Glasgow, KY died Monday, March 01, 2010 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was born in Barren County, the son of the late Sam and Euna Houchens Davis. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Temple Hill High School, was retired from SKF and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carpentry and attended the Glasgow Bible Church. He is survived by his wife Leffel Devasher Davis; 2 sons Todd Davis and wife Sonya and Daniel Davis and wife Pam all of Glasgow; a daughter Sandy Hall and husband Tiger of Glasgow; 6 grandchildren, Clint and Amy Hall, Ally and Taylor Davis and Corey and Connor Davis; 5 sisters Sadie Jackman, Grace Roby, Levie Kinslow, and Jenny Wells of Glasgow and Dorothy Glass of Edmonton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Houchens and Ida Mae Smith. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Wednesday. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assn.
