Kenneth Gray, Sr. 93 of the Bon Ayr community of Barren County died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Barren County Health Care. Born in Barren County he was the son of the late Joe and Eunice Bishop Gray and husband of the late Ruth Martin Gray. Mr. Gray was a lifelong farmer in the Bon Ayr Commuity, partner manager of Samson Tobacco Warehouse and Barren River Fertilizer Company. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of WW II and served as a gunner onboard a B-24 Liberator bomber. His plane was shot down and he became a POW in Krems Austria for 13 months. He was a member of the Old Zion Methodist Church. Survivors include 3 sons Ricky Gray and wife Karen of Park City, Joe B. Gray and wife Rita of Smiths Grove, Sammy Gray and wife Pamela of Park City; 1 daughter Carole Ann Manion and husband Jimmy of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren Joe B. Gray, II, Jody E. Ledesma, Kory N. Gray. Adam Gray, Susan Blevins, Timothy Manion, Sammy Gray, III, Mary Wright, Virginia Webb, Thomas Rich, Meredith Bowles Parker: 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister Joanna Goodman of Bowling Green and several nieces. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by 2 brothers Leon and William Gray. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family also would like to thank the family of Barren County Health Care in Glasgow for their care for Mr. Gray.
