Norris 'Pappy' Johnson 88 of Glasgow died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Luther and Willie Belle Saunders Johnson. Norris was a farmer and retired as the Barren County Road Supervisor after 19 years. He was a member of the Barren County Cattleman's Assn and was very active in the Barren County Democratic Party and had been named 'Mr. Democrat' by the Barren County Democratic Women's Club. Mr. Norris served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the South Green St. Church of Christ. He is survived by his son, Eugene Johnson and wife Sandy; 2 grandchildren Stacey Hughes and husband Rick of Bowling Green and Laura Griggs and husband Scott of Louisville; 5 great-grandchildren Ryan and Elise Hughes and Jackson, Wesley and Ryder Griggs; a brother William Johnson of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Shaw Johnson, a brother Richard Eugene Johnson and a sister Marjorie Elders. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter 20 of Glasgow will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3pm until 8pm and Wednesday morning until time for services.
