Sandra Bishop Gardner 66 of Glasgow died Tuesday, July 01, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Brown Bishop and Geneva Taylor Bishop. Sandra was an educator for over 35 years in the Glasgow Independent Schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Kiononia Circle, and had served as the local and district president of the United Methodist Women. Sandra was a member of the Barren County Democratic Women's Club and had recently been appointed by Attorney General Jack Conway and Governor Steve Beshear to serve on the Kentucky Consumer Advisors Council. She is survived by her husband Woody Gardner; daughter Allison Gardner Martin and husband Tony of Louisville; son John Bishop Gardner and wife Resa of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Woods and Sloan Martin and Emory and Jack Gardner and 2 brothers, Billy Bishop and wife Tootie and Danny Bishop and wife Teresa all of Glasgow. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, July 3rd at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery at Park City. Visitation will begin at 4:30pm Wednesday at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Thursday from 9:00 am until 11:00am at the church.
