Sharon Ann Batson

Today, I lost the love of my life, my best friend, my wife. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a phenomenal cook. She was a beacon of light to all of those around her, and the world was a better place with her in it. She is the strongest woman I've ever known and will be missed by all. There will never be another like her, and all of us will remember our "Donny". Rest well my love and know that you will always remain in our hearts. Sharon Ann "Sherry" Batson, age 74, of Glasgow, died Saturday, August 6, 2022, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania, on August 5, 1948, to the late Dale C. Blank and the late Mary Simotes Blank. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Richard Batson; four children, Kim Lorenz Cairo (John), Dee Ann Phillips, Shannon Stinnett (Joey), and Linne Warner (Chris); three siblings, Eric Blank (Ginny), Wendy Deniston (Michael), and Linda Heyborne; seven grandchildren, Garrett Cairo (Rachel), Jack Cairo, Nicholas Cairo, Chase Phillips, Noah Stinnett, Lindsay Stroemer, and Lucas Iorio (Emily); great grandchild on the way James Iorio; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale C. Blank and Mary Simotes Blank; stepmother, Pat Blank; one son, Jason Batson; in-law's, Malcolm and Geneva Gale Smith: special friend, Kaye Heers.
