Shelby Louise Birge, 84, of Temple Hill, Kentucky entered into her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. She was born in Barren County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Carson and Pearl Hale Capps. Shelby was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church and retired from the Barren County School System as a cook for Temple Hill School. She is survived by one son, Marcus Birge of Temple Hill; three daughters, Marla Irwin (David) of Glasgow, Sharon Mayhugh (Kevin) of Bowling Green, Amy Bartlett (Kevin) of Temple Hill; seven grandchildren, Anthony Irwin, A. J. Irwin, Ashley Prince, Cody Mayhugh, Cheyenne Cash, Kaley Smith, Zachary Korte; five great grandchildren, Bentley and Elijah Irwin, Clayton and Olivia Prince, Everly Mayhugh; one sister, Judy Pedigo of Westmoreland, Tennessee; and one son-in-law, Brad Korte of Glasgow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Korte; one grandson, Jonathan Irwin; two great grandsons, Mason Tucker Irwin, Eli Nathaniel Irwin; and one brother, John Richard Capps. The funeral service for Mrs. Birge will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21st at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F.
