Shirley Handy

Shirley Joyce Handy 65 of Horse Cave, KY died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY. Born in Barren Co. she was the daughter of the late Floyd Payton Houchens & Dorothy Lillian Taylor Houchens of Glasgow who survives. Mrs. Handy was of the Baptist Faith and a employee of Dart Container in Horse Cave, KY. In addition to her mother she is survived by 2 daughters Betty Jo Short of Scottsville and Charlene Reece of Glasgow; 2 sons Charles Madison Short, Jr. of Glasgow and Joseph Payton Short of Scottsville; 2 brothers Joe & Larry Houchens of Glasgow; 1 sister Mary Ann Hogue of Shepardsville, KY; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by 1 sister Glenda Rye. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday. July 16, 2004 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.
