Stanley Greer,, Sr

Stanley Greer, Sr. 94 of Etoile, died Tuesday August 13, 2013 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. He was the son of the late Eugene and Maude Underwood Greer and husband of the late Charles Dean Francis Chapman Greer whom he married in 1939. Mr. Greer was a farmer and a carpenter and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member and a deacon of the Caney Fork Baptist Church at Etoile. He is survived by his son Stanley Cleveland Greer and wife Peggy of Etoile; 3 grandsons Brad Greer, Anthony Greer and wife Joy all of Glasgow, and Greg Greer and wife Zina Beth of Etoile; 3 great-grandchildren Cody Greer and wife Jessica, Hanna Greer and Gunnar Greer; 1 great-great-grandchild Kenzie Greer; a foster son Eddie Greer and wife Vicki of Edmonton and 2 foster grandchildren Amanda and Christa Greer; 2 sisters Bess Williams and Emogene Button of Glasgow; 3 brothers William Dean Greer and wife Shirley, Bill Greer and wife Ann and Paul Greer all of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother John Greer and 2 sisters Mary Frances Elliott and Tress Garrett. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday, August 15th at the Caney Fork Baptist Church with burial in the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4pm Wednesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Thursday morning until 11am. Then visitation will continue at the church Thursday from 12pm until time for the service.
