Stephen Earl Biggers, 60 of Franklin, TN and formerly of Glasgow, died peacefully at his home in Franklin. Stephen was born June 5, 1954 in Orlando, Florida, second son of the late Paul E. and Bettie Carol Huntsman Biggers. He grew up in Glasgow and was a 1972 graduate of Glasgow High School. He earned his BS degree from WKU in History and Communication and later earned four more degrees including Economic Development and his Masters in Business and Communication. Stephen's first real work experience came in the family business, Biggers Interiors in Glasgow and he continued that vocation while completing college. He accepted the role as Executive Director of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce in February 1989 and served until 1993. Among his accomplishments was introducing the Leadership Program. The family relocated to Franklin, TN. in 1993 when Stephen joined Journal Communications at Cool Springs, TN. During that time he helped his wife Lisa start an interior design company, J.J. Ashley in historic downtown Franklin and he became active in Franklin community affairs. He later joined the business fulltime. Currently he was serving as an adjunct professor of Business and Professional Speaking at Columbia State College where he was honored by his students as the Adjunct Professor of the Year for the past two years. Always trying something new, Stephen also appeared in several televised commercials and had a lead role in a country music video, 'Butterfly Kisses' by the Rabon Brothers. Stephen loved all forms of music, a self-taught singer and talented musician. He performed with several music groups, specializing is music from the 70's and 80's. Stephen is survived by two sons, John Stephen Biggers, (Bathsheba) of Chicago and Jacob Hugh Bartlett Biggers, (Kelly), Denver, Colorado; and the boys' mother, Lisa Wilson Biggers, Franklin. Stephen is also survived by his brother, Paul E. Biggers III (Kaye) of Nashville; Geneva Trigg, Glasgow, Rondal E. Trigg, Greer, South Carolina; sister-in-law Marianne DeMeyers (Greg) of Franklin, TN; brother-in-law Chris Wilson of Franklin, TN and by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brent Huntsman Biggers in March of this year. Stephen Earl's wishes were to be cremated. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home in Glasgow. The family has asked that remembrances be made in the form of donations to his beloved Glasgow Scottie Band, 1601 Columbia Ave, Glasgow, KY. 42141 or to BRAWA, P.O. Box 171, Glasgow, Ky. 42141.
