Thelma Furlong

Thelma Jane Furlong 91 of Glasgow died Monday 7-31-06 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Mrs. Furlong was born in Barren County the daughter of the late Lester Kurt Thomas and Emily Thomas Chapman. She was the wife of the late Charles Emmitt and the Late Leslie Furlong. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include 4 sons Cecil Emmitt, Gilbert Emmitt, William Dee 'Bill' Emmitt and wife Roberta, Curtis 'Gene' Emmitt and wife Kay all of Glasgow; 8 Step children Grace Smith, Annie Settles, Barbara Wooten, Betsy Gibbons, James Furlong, Charles Furlong, Billy Furlong and Donald Furlong all of Glasgow;1 sister Sara Lewis of Glasgow; 20 grandchildren and 20 step grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 21 step great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husbands she is preceded in death by 3 stepchildren Jewell Furlong, Leroy Furlong and Aline Furlong; 1 sister Lois Goad and 1 brother Elgin 'Doc' Barrett. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday 8-4-06 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Chapman Family Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6:00pm on Thursday.
