Thomas Mathews

Leroy Mathews 86 of Glasgow died Monday, February 17, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Glasgow, he was the son of the late Roy and Euna Rigsby Mathews and husband of the late June Wilkinson Mathews who died Nov. 29, 2012. Leroy was the owner and co-founder of Leroy Mathews and Sons Construction Co. in Glasgow. He was a member of the Siloam Baptist Church. He is survived by four sons, Larry Mathews (Carolyn Estes) of Glasgow, Kelly Mathews (Nancy) of Glasgow, Terry Mathews (Vickie) of Glasgow and Tracy Mathews (Mary Ann) of Lawrenceburg, KY; 8 grandchildren Stacy Mathews (Joe B. Bettersworth), Chris Mathews (Tarah), Sandra Mathews, Steve Mathews (Susan), Melissa Mathews (Jeremy Logsdon), Justin Mathews (Jennifer), Brian Mathews (Lillie) and Wendy Sexton (Rusty); 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters Marie Taylor of Glasgow and Mabel Moran (Billy) of Bowling Green; 1 brother Mitchell Mathews of Warren County; a brother-in-law Jesse Wilkinson of Texas and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Dale Mathews. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3pm Thursday.
