Thomas Dwayne Moss 58 of Glasgow, died suddenly Wednesday March 7, 2007 at his home after a brief illness. Dwayne was a native of Calvert City, KY and was the son of the late Thomas and Marion Thompson Moss. He was a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy and held his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Murray State University. He was the former Vice President of Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Owensboro and was former Chief Operating Officer at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Dwayne was the CEO at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital in Greenville, AL prior to coming to Glasgow. Mr. Moss has been the CEO at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow since 1998. During his time at TJ, he has led the organization through a large tenure of growth and collaborated and led affiliations state wide to bring advancements to T.J. Samson and the residents in our community: STAT CARE Air Ambulance, dedicated pediatrics unit, sleep lab center, chest pain center, wound therapy, primary angioplasty, telemedicine and continuation of the U of L Residency Program. He was also involved in the community and was holding the position of president-elect for the Chamber of Commerce and Glasgow Rotary. At the time of his passing, Dwayne was serving on the Board of Directors for the YMCA, Kentucky Hospital Association, Telemedicine, Citizens for a Healthier Kentucky, Glasgow Golf and Country Club, Advisory Board KCTCS, and Advisory Council Western Kentucky University. He also enjoyed hunting, blues music and golf and was an avid supporter of University of Kentucky Basketball and Football. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Jarvis Moss; a beloved niece Sarah Jarvis at home; a son Rodney Moss (Katie) of Columbia, SC; a daughter Alison Moss Green (Justin) of Paducah, KY; a granddaughter Aniston Moss and 2 sisters Dilana Dunn of Illinois and Teresa Groves of Calvert City, KY. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday March 11, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Glasgow with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and on Sunday at the Church from 1:00pm until time for the service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Dwayne Moss Memorial Medical Scholarship Fund c/o T. J. Samson Community Hospital, 1301 N. Race St., Glasgow, KY 42141.
