Rev. Thomas S. Renick 85 died Friday, November 5, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side. A veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines and Japan, he was the son of the late Spencer Renick and Lela Snoddy Renick. Rev. Renick was a member of the Shiloh General Baptist Church. He was ordained in 1960 by The Portland Association of General Baptist into the full work of the ministry. He preached on the radio in the late 60's and the early to mid 70's. In the past years he had taught Sunday School at Shiloh General Baptist Church and Glasgow First General Baptist Church. He was a life long farmer in the Red Cross area. Survivors include his loving wife of 62years Lavern Kinslow Renick, 3 sons Michael James, Lowell (Eva) and Nowell and a daughter Belinda Carol Hodges (Jimmy). Several cousins, nieces and nephes also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother William Earl Renick. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00pm-9:00pm Sunday and on Tuesday from 8:00 until time for services. There will be no visitation on Monday.
