Travis Milton Furlong 86 of Glasgow died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Diversicare of Glasgow. Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late Milton & Rena Lawrence Furlong. Mr. Furlong was a member of the New Salem Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army and former owner and operator of Young & Furlong Welding for 35 years. He is survived by his wife Louise Story Furlong of Glasgow; two grandchildren William Andrew Howell & wife Erin and Mary Travis Howell both of Alvaton, KY; three great grandchildren Jaxson, Tyson and Kane Howell; a sister Bernadene Johnson & husband Leonard of Glasgow; a sister-in-law Frances Read & husband Edwin of Glasgow and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Lucinda F. Giles; a sister Dorothea Stephens; a brother Harold Glenn Furlong and his father and mother-in-law Bob & Myrtle Story. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will after 3:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the New Salem Cemetery at 1633 New Salem Rd. Glasgow, KY 42141.
