Tressie Garrett

Tressie Garrett 88 of Glasgow died Monday December 21, 2009 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born in Barren County and was a daughter of the late Eugene and Maude Underwood Greer. Her husband was the late Marvin Garrett. Mrs. Garrett was a former employee of Handmacher and was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter Janice Garrett Hall (Jimmy) of Glasgow; 3 sons Jimmy Maxwell Garrett (Louise), and Millard Eugene Garrett both of Glasgow and Kimble Starr Garrett (Donna) of Raleigh, NC; 8 grandchildren Tiger Hall (Sandy), Toren Garrett (Angie), Kenneth Garrett (Shana), Varsey Humphrey (Will), Shawn Hall (Jessica), Calissa Furlong (Steven), Brandon Garrett (Shenia) and Jordan Garrett; 4 brothers Stanley Greer of Etoile, Paul Greer, William Dean Greer and Bill Greer all of Glasgow; 2 sisters Bessie Williams of Glasgow and Emogene Button Garner. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Sanders Greer and a sister Mary Frances Elliott. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the Grider Memorial Baptist Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM on Tuesday.
