Troy Eugene Simpson, 68 of Park City died Monday, July 20, 2015 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Glasgow, the son of the late Henry Simpson and Julia (Bellamy) Simpson. Troy was a former member of the Park City Volunteer Fire Department were he had once served as Chief. He drove a School Bus for over 15 years for the Barren County School System and for the last 24 years, Troy was owner and operator of Chrome Crazy Cycle Accessories. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. Survivor include his wife Freda (Wright) Simpson of Park City; 1 son Ellis Simpson of Louisville; 1 daughter Laura Gaines (Doug) of Park City; 5 grandchildren Emily Gaines, Ryan Gaines, Maddy Simpson, Elaina Simpson & Brooklyn Simpson; 2 brothers Howard Simpson (Jackie) of TX & Ricky Simpson (Brenda) of Cave City; 5 sisters Vonita Bush (Kenny) of Glasgow, Patsy Glass of Hardyville, Janice Crump (Eddlee) of Smith Grove, Joyce Hay (Ken) of Horse Cave & Vicki Richey (Tim) of Glasgow. Several nieces & nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Ronald Simpson. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday July 24, 2015 at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Park City. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 3:00pm Thursday July 23, 2015 at the funeral home. Troy was well known for buying soldiers their meals. So the family has asked that as alternate expression of sympathy, In memory of Troy Simpson, please go out and do the same for a veteran or one currently serving in the military.
