Velma Mae Black 87 of Glasgow, KY died Friday, May 14, 2010 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Allen County, KY the daughter of the late Oscar and Zula Hinton Mitchell. Mrs. Black was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a former children's Sunday school teacher and a member of the Fellowship Sunday school class. She is survived by her husband Avon; two sons David Black and wife Ann of Louisville and Roger Black and wife Julie of Paducah and five grandchildren, Allison, Nathan, Michael, Thomas and Jennifer Black. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Rodney Black, a sister Eunice Mitchell and a brother Elvis J. Mitchell. Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
