Velma Burgess

Velma Mae Burgess 88 of Glasgow died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Jim & Lillian Mayo Button and wife of the late Ewell Burgess. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her first husband Loy Payne, 2 sisters Elizabeth Carver & Clara Payne and 1 brother Marshall Button. Survivors include 2 daughters Vera Nell Price of Glasgow and Rachel Rhodes & husband Charles, Sr. of Greenville, IN; 2 granddaughters Clara Dunbar-Kettles & husband Joe of Glasgow and Diane Burk & husband Kevin of Jeffersonville, IN; 4 grandsons Hardin Price & wife Paula of Jeffersonville, IN, Paul Price & wife Tina of Louisville, KY, Joe Price & wife Chrissy of Memphis, IN and Charles Rhodes Jr. & wife Burt of Louisville, KY; 1 brother James Button & wife Emogene of Glasgow; 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burgess has been cremated. A Graveside Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00am Monday June 13, 2005 at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monroe County. There will be no visitation. A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
