Velma Emberton Pursley 87 of Glasgow died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Barren County Health Care in Glasgow. She was born in Monroe County the daughter of the late Ed and Pearl Turner Emberton. Mrs. Pursley was a member of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters Betty Brooks and husband Jerry of Lebanon, TN and Brenda Wyatt of Glasgow; 3 sons Benny Pursley and wife Susie, Mark Pursley and Jeff Pursley all of Glasgow; a daughter-in-law Bonnie Pursley of Glasgow; 1 brother Vick Emberton of Glasgow; 12 grandchildren Justin Pursley, Marla Thompson, Michelle Young, Angie Moore, Chris Pursley, Kim Sanders, Kory Pursley, Joseph Wyatt, Heather Parsley, Mandy Birge, Matt Pursley and Will Pursley; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband W.E. 'Bill' Pursley, a son Bobby Pursley, a son-in-law Wilson Wyatt, 2 grandchildren Bryan and Ellena Brooks, 4 brothers Rondel, Glen, Quin and Jessie Emberton and 2 sisters Edna Rigney and Nancy Ross. Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Rolling Hills Baptist Church, Hwy. 1297 in Glasgow with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1pm Tuesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
