Velma Shaw

Velma Delk Shaw 92 of Glasgow died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Glenview Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. Born in Barren Co. she was the daughter of the late Roshia & Lottie Tolle Delk and wife of the late Silas Bratton Shaw. Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Lick Branch Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Shaw is survived by a son Joseph Shaw (Sarah) of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Alan Shaw (Jennifer), Kay Ramsey (Tearle) and Lou Shaw all of Glasgow and Wiliam Gosnell (Kristie) of Austin, KY; 4 great grandchildren Marichen Lehman, Elizabeth Gosnell, Katie Gosnell and Jacob Thomas Gosnell; a brother-in-law Leo Underwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; 2 sisters-in-law Frances Shaw of Three Rivers, TX and Nell Shaw Piercy of Glasgow; 6 nephews Rex, Jimmy and Joe Underwood all of Lawrenceburg, TN, Franklin and Billy Joe Shaw both of Glasgow and Donnie Brown of Three Rivers, TX; 5 nieces Verda Biggers of Glasgow, Dena Smithson and Cherry Watson of Louisville, KY and Jackie Gore and Sheila Gosnell of Florida; several other friend and relatives also survive. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Gosnell, a sister Christine Underwood and a niece Joyce Brown. Funeral services will be 10:00am Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
