Virginia Dare Thomas

Virginia Burgess Thomas, 95, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 16, 2022. She was born May 13, 1927 in Fithian, Illinois to the late Willis Hershel Burgess and Effie Combs Burgess. Virginia was a seamstress at Kentucky Pants for 20 years and was a longtime member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Etoile Eastern Star for 70 years and was a member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years. In her spare time, she loved caring for her flowers and quilting. Survivors include her three daughters, Glenda Emberton (Gilbert) of Glasgow, Betty Jo Larimer (Bill) of Elizabethtown, Barbara Jones (Darrell) of Scottsville; two sons, Billy Thomas (Martha) and T. Hershel Thomas (Renona), both of Glasgow; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arlie Jay Thomas; one granddaughter, Christina Jackson; two great great grandsons, Westin McElhaney and Bo McElhaney; one sister, Ruth Hunt; and two infant siblings. The funeral service for Mrs. Thomas will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21st at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home. A. F.
