Virginia Green

Virginia E. Green 86 of Glasgow died Saturday November 19, 2011 at the NHC Healthcare Facility in Glasgow. She was born in Barren County a daughter of the late Lonnie and Pearlie Emmitt Byrd. She was a former employee of the KY Pants Co. and was a member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters Arlene Jackman (Joe) of Glasgow and Sheryl Foster (Terry) of Summer Shade; 2 sons Wayne Furlong (Debra) of Glasgow and Samuel Furlong (Velen) of Glasgow; 1 sister Stella Mathews of Lexington; 1 brother Carl Byrd (Doris) of Eighty Eight, KY; 16 grandchildren including Jackie Wilkinson and Jennifer Payne who were her caregivers and whom she considered daughters; 25 great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl W. Green, a son Richard Furlong, a grandson Jimmy Daryl Greene and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday Nov. 22, 2011 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Monday.
