Virginia Mercer

Virginia Mercer, age 90, of Glasgow, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Signature Healthcare in Glasgow. She was born in Glasgow on December 04,1932, to the late Sammy Morgan and the late Mary Ruth (Harper) Morgan. Virginia was a faithful member of the Grider Memorial Baptist Church and was a bookkeeper for Mercer Plumbing.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Ray (Billy) of Nashville, Tennessee; her son, David Mercer (Sherry) of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Bradley Ray (Shelby) and Lauren Ray of Nashville, Tennessee, Hilary Mercer and Joe Taylor Mercer (Cheyenne) of Glasgow; seven great grandchildren, Avery Ray, Carson Ray, Stella Ray, Gracyn Wellman, Paige de Haas, Quaid Mercer, and Cami Mercer; sister, Druscilla Cowles (Rick) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister in law, Wilma B. Morgan of Lecta, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Cowboy” Mercer; daughter, Donna Jo Mercer; two brothers, Donald Wayne Morgan and Almon Joe “A.J.” Morgan; two sisters, Jeanette Mae Jeffries and Dorothy Jean Holmes.

Her family has honored her wishes for cremation. The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
