Virginia Elliott 'Shine' Curd 89 of Cave City died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green. She was born March 17, 1925 in Barren County, the daughter of the late Ed and Ada Elliott and was raised in the Temple Hill Community. Mrs. Curd was a graduate of Temple Hill High School and prior to her marriage was an employee of J. J. Newberry, Handmacher and was an Avon representative. November 2, 1957 she married William D. Curd and helped on the family farm. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by a son William Elliott Curd and wife Karon Neel Curd of Cave City; one grandson Will (Whitney) Curd of Cave City; 3 nieces Sue (Wes) Strader of Bowling Green, Betty Weir of Celina, TN and Kathy (Wayne) Earls of Glasgow; 2 nephews Joe (Janet) Elliott of Glasgow and Bobby (Beth) Elliott of Indianapolis, IN; a sister-in-law Grace Curd of Glasgow and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William D. Curd, 2 sisters Helen (Paul) Sabens and Sue Mae Elliott and 3 brothers Robert (Faye) Elliott, Kelly (Ruth) Elliott and Harold Smith Elliott. Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, April 5th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2pm Friday.
