Virginia Lee Thomas Virginia Lee Grooms Thomas, 76, of Glasgow died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Barren County on February 8, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Evermond and Daisy Carlson Grooms. Mrs. Thomas was a retired nurse and a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and the Lucas Homemakers. She is survived by her husband Paul Thomas; one son Bill Thomas and wife Sandi; two granddaughters Randi Woosley and husband Danny and Bobbi Mayes and husband Joey; one great-granddaughter Laurel Mayes all of Glasgow; one sister Linda Baxter of Campbellsville; two brothers Paul Grooms of Indiana and Sam Grooms of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Nellie Reid Mosier, Jewell Wood, Johannah Dell Vincent, Edith Norman, Jean Sater, and Betty Grooms. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday October 14, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and on Friday until time for services at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to either the T. J. Samson Community Hospital Hospice Program, 1301 N. Race St., Glasgow, KY 42141 or the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, 710 W. Main St., Suite 201, Louisville, KY 40202.
