Vj Embry

VJ Embry, age 88 of Caneyville, passed away Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. He was born on May 23, 1927 in Butler County, the son of the late Vannie and Mary Brooks Embry. He was a member of the Wilson Home General Baptist Church. VJ Embry was retired from Phillip Morris Tobacco Company in Louisville. VJ also enjoyed Fox Hunting and Coon Hunting. He is survived by three grandchildren, TJ Embry of Bowling Green, KY, Micah Embry of Owensboro, KY and Corey Embry of Caneyville KY. Two sisters, Opal Burden of Louisville and Myrtle Wilson of Fordsville. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ava Carter Embry, one son Stevie J Embry and several brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be April 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Home General Baptist Church. Bro Joe Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday after 5:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service at the Wilson Home General Baptist Church.
