Vonnie Houchens

Vonnie Susan Houchens of Glasgow went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the NHC Healthcare. Born in Lamb, KY she was the daughter of the late Henry and Trudy Jones Houchens. Miss Houchens was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She had worked at Leech and Davis Drug Store, Ben Franklin, 29 years at Mallory's and 18 years with Ford Furniture in Glasgow. She was a Kentucky Colonel and voted most popular person in Glasgow by a Glasgow Daily Times survey. Survivors include her niece and devoted caregiver Vickie Susan Hindman of Glasgow, two sisters Margaret Jordan of Glasgow and Clarice Sartin (Kenneth A.) of Cave City, KY; several other nieces and nephews and her special cats Sara, Cubbie, Jazzbe, Pretty Face, Bangs, Charlie, Tippy, Montgomery and Sunday. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 8 sibblings, Jewell Reeves, Euell Houchens, Stanley Houchens, Wilton Houchens, Ruby Jones, Jim Tom Houchens, Opal Morris and Beulah Hindman. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, March 22nd at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
