Walter Byrd

Walter Marion Byrd 74 of Cave City, KY died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Cave City, Kentucky he was the son of the late John Marion and Bessie Francis Hare Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired plumber and member of the Brotherhood Freewill Baptist Church in Glasgow. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Sue Hibbett Byrd, 6 daughters Roberta Emmitt (Bill), Peggy Hutcheson (Bobby), Deanna Houchens (Bill) all of Glasgow, Glenda Lowery of Louisville, Cindy Green (Yancy) of Fountain Run, Franshell Rathert (Tim) of Smiths Grove, 3 sons Marion Byrd (Freda) of Glasgow, Mark Byrd of Russellville, KY, Brent Decker (Michelle) of Johnson City, TN, 1 sister Jewell Smith of Glasgow, 31 Grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sisters Bernice Byrd, Lillian Ballard and Dorothy Pulliam. Funeral services for Mr. Byrd will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 Noon on Friday, February 9, 2007 at the funeral home.
