Walter 'Tommy' (Papa) Cooper 73 of Smiths Grove, died Wednesday May 21, 2008 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Alabama the son of the late Rufus and Martha Young Cooper. He was the former supervisor of Maintenance for the Barren County Board of Education for 21 years and was a member and a Deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Frances Cox Cooper; his son Roger Gentry (Sue) of Glasgow; 2 grandchildren Christopher Dale Gentry (Jessica) of Glasgow and Kimberly Jo Campbell (James) of Lucas; 5 grandchildren Dakota, Landon and Alexia Campbell and Kaitlyn and Blake Gentry; 5 foster grandchildren Andrew, Cody, Chasity, Chelsea and Kelsey Burchett and 3 sisters Ablene Cox (Billy) of Indiana, Maxine Collins (Fred) of Arizona and Corrine North (Jimmy) of Indiana. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be 3:00pm Saturday May 24th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00am Friday.
