Walton Bishop

Walton Catherine Bishop 89 of the Bon Ayr and Merry Oaks community, died Monday May 5, 2008 at the Barren County Health Care Facility. She was born May 5, 1919 in Barren County, a daughter of the late Ancil and Edna Spradling Barrick. She was the widow of the late Virgil Bishop. Mrs. Bishop was a farmer and a homemaker and a faithful member of Bon Ayr Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter Betty Faye Coomer and husband Douglas of Glasgow; a granddaughter Kathy Proffitt and husband Terry of Glasgow; a grandson Kevin Douglas Coomer and wife Angie of Glasgow; 2 great-grandchildren Julie Rae and Jacob Walton Coomer of Glasgow; 2 sisters Elizabeth Williams and Cloteel Lyons (Perry) of Louisville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Ruth, Carrie and Mildred and brothers J.T., Ed, Willie Porter and Ancil Jr. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Bon Ayr Baptist Church with burial in the Merry Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm Monday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 8:00am at the funeral home.
