Wendell Furlong

Bro. Wendell Paul Furlong 75 was called home on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his home in Burnside, KY. Wendell was a native of Barren County, KY. He was born March 3, 1939, son of the late Louis Dow and Lera Scott Furlong. He pastored Baptist Churches since 1960 in the following counties: Barren, Monroe, Metcalfe, Green, Mercer, Pulaski, Boyle, Wayne and McCreary. Bro. Wendell was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Science Hill, KY. Mr. Furlong held a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Rank 1 from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He retired August 31, 2000, after 33 years having worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Survivors include his wife, Juda Bowles Furlong whom he married April 12, 1956 in Celina, TN; three sons Todd Bowles Furlong of Burnside, KY, Edward Louis (Libbie) Furlong of Burnside, KY, Shane Conley Furlong of Somerset, KY and one grandson, Tyran Louis Dow Furlong of Burnside, KY. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Edward Furlong of Glasgow. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 20th at 5:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset. There will also be a visitation on Wednesday at 5:00pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and Thursday at 11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 1:00pm at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
