William "Bill" Herbert Whited

William “Bill” Herbert Whited, 96, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at Radcliff Veterans Center in Radcliff, Kentucky. Bill was born in Taylorsville, Tennessee on June 4, 1928, to the late William Alexander Whited and the late Novie Frances Piercy Whited. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army and is WWII veteran. After his military career, Bill spent many years working at Fort Knox until his retirement. Once he retired he enjoyed his time working on his farm.

He is survived by two sons, Ray Whited (Anna) and Alan Whited (Dana); step daughter, Dorthy Gartee, grandchildren, Gianna Lutz, Lorna Merrell, Austin Whited, Tracker Whited, Amanda Stewart, Ashley Reeder, Miranda Medley, and Ryan Bruner; step grandchildren, Larry, Stacy, Vickie, Pat, Mike, Jennifer, Jackie, Brandon, Jason, and Raylee; eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and girlfriend, Brenda Grinstead.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Arlene Neal Whited; siblings, Mary Lee Ferkus, Richard Whited, and Nerma Gregory; step daughters, Carolyn Gore, Linda Taylor, Vanessa Avery; and a step grandchild, Tonya.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Whited will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 29, 2024, at A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by DAV Glasgow Chapter #20.
