William Allie 'Bill' Cox 81 of Glasgow died Thursday November 6, 2008 at the Barren County Health Care Facility in Glasgow. He was born in Barren County the son of the late William Thomas Cox and Byrd Lela Pedigo Cox. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Susan Bailey Everett Cox. Mr. Cox attended Hiseville High School before entering and serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Cox was a self employed electrician and plumber and had also worked for Charles Crabtree Construction and well as owning and operating Cox Grocery. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking and was a charter member of the Barren River Rod and Gun Club. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He loved to help others. Boating and fishing with his buddies was how he enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of Hiseville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Louise Freeman Alexander Cox; 2 daughters Nancy Payne (Gary) of Bowling Green and Linda Parker (Charles) of London, KY; 3 step-sons Larry Alexander (Betty Jane) of Glasgow; Danny Alexander (Andree') of Cary, NC and Mitch Alexander (Becky) of Fisher, IN; 3 granddaughters Emily Perkins (Will) and Melissa Tucker of Bowling Green, and Megan Bailey Parker of Lexington; 8 step grandchildren Scotty Alexander (Trish) of Bowling Green, Sarah Alexander of Washington, DC, Seth, Joel and Leah Alexander of Cary, NC, Chad Eads (Amy) of Shepherdsville, KY, Micah Eads (Angie) of Noblesville, IN and Tiffany Eads of Fisher, IN; 4 great grandchildren Zachary and Harrison Tucker and Allie and Anne Logan Perkins; 2 step great grandchildren Isabella and William Eads; 2 sisters-in-law Mildred Bunch of Glasgow and Ann Freeman Kinser (Eziel) of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by 4 brothers Leonard Cox (Lucille), Leo Cox (Christine), Ralph Cox (Mag) and J. C. Cox, 3 sisters Hazel McKinney (Eugene), Mildred Burks (William) and Ruth Tomlin (Harry) and a brother-in-law Mitchell Bunch. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday November 10, 2008 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow, will be in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and Monday from 8am until time for services.
