William Dee Bill Emmitt 71 of Glasgow died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his home. Born in Barren County, he was the son of the late Charlie Emmitt and Thelma Thomas Furlong and Leslie Furlong. Mr. Emmitt was an employee of Freightliner Trucking and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Coral Hill Church of God. He is survived by his wife Roberta Gulley Emmitt; 4 children, Penny Vibbert Edwards (Bobby) of Center, Lela Gail Rogers of Glasgow, Gary Emmitt (Kaye) of Plainfield, IN and Theresa Emmitt of Glasgow; Step-children Kim Ferrell (Ed) of Temple Hill, Monica Gulley of Glasgow, Stephanie Wise (Joe) of Glasgow and James Bo Gulley (Theresa) of Munfordville; 16 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; 3 brothers Cecil, Gilbert and Curtis Gene Emmitt ( Kay) all of Glasgow; Step sisters Grace Smith, Annie Settles, Barbara Wooten and Betty Gibbons; step brothers James, Charles and Donald Furlong and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons Ronnie and Charlie Emmitt, a son-in-law Bill Rogers, step-brothers Leroy and Billy Furlong and his step-sisters Jewell and Aline Furlong. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday.
