William Emery Furlong 78 of Glasgow died Sunday, October 23, 2005 at his residence. Born in Barren Co. he was the son of the late Ed Emery Furlong and Mary Opal Snoddy Furlong. Mr. Furlong was a member of the Three Fork Church of Christ, a Farmer and a Veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Musie Louise Edmunds Furlong. Survivors include his wife Nannie Pearl Howard Furlong; a son Eddie Furlong & wife Doris of Glasgow; a daughter Jill Gentry & husband Johnny of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Jamie Furlong, Amy Wyatt, Mitchell Gentry & Kate Gentry; 2 great grandchildren Abbigail Furlong and Briar Wyatt; 3 brothers Maurice Furlong & wife Hilda of Glasgow, Wayne Furlong & wife Louise of Struassburg, VA and David Furlong & wife Laverne of Bowling Green, KY; 2 sisters Helen McCandless & husband Elzie of Glasgow and Nadine Brown & husband J. T. of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
