William Humphrey

William Elliott Humphrey 76 of Temple Hill died Sunday December 7, 2003 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital after an illness. He was the son of the late Tommy C. and Tommie Elliott Humphrey and husband of the late Juanita Gass Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was born in and a life long resident of Temple Hill where he was the seventh generation of his family to farm the Revolutionary War Grant Farm. He was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church and as a child attended the one room Millersburg School. His leisure time was usually spent at the area cattle stockyards and he was known as a gifted storyteller. For the past year Elliott had resided at the Barren County Health Care Facility where he considered the entire staff as his extended family. He is survived by a son Michael Lee Humphrey and wife Faye of Temple Hill; a daughter Sarah Ann Muckler and husband Matthew of Glasgow, KY; a granddaughter Alexandria Norton Muckler at U of L in Louisville; a grandson Thomas Michael Humphrey of Temple Hill; a sister Eleanor Ruth Bickel and husband John of Tampa, FL; 2 nieces Dawn Drake of Tampa, FL and Margaret Pope and husband Scott of New Mexico and several great nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 10, 2003 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
