William Richard Jackson 81 of Glasgow died Wednesday July 8, 2009 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Barren County the son of the late John Edward Jackson and Etta Pearl Nabors Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member at Dover Baptist Church at Haywood for 69 years where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a life-long farmer, owned and operated Beaver Bait and Gun and was a veteran of WWII. He enjoyed his church, family and friends and hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lucille; 2 sons Steven Jackson and wife Betty, and Kelly Jackson and wife Carolyn; 3 daughters Janie Lou Tharp and husband Carroll, Carlotta Short and husband Billy and Lisa Crain all of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren Stephania Coots (Joe), Sonja Hammer (Greg), Richard Neal Short (Shanna), Joshua Crain, Monica Davis (Corey) Tiffany Smith (Odie) and Matthew Short (September) and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Carole Jackson and a brother-in-law Travis Centers. He was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth Jackson and J.C. Jackson and a sister Edith O'Jean Centers. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Dover Baptist Church at Haywood with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00am Friday at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home
