William Mansfield

Arnold Mansfield 94 of Glasgow, died Tuesday October 13, 2009 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Clarence and Essie Matthews Mansfield. He began working at the Glasgow Post Office in 1942, moved to the Smiths Grove Post Office in 1975 and retired as Smiths Grove Postmaster on August 30, 1978. Mr. Mansfield was a former Elder at the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ and a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ for many years. He was also a former member of the Glasgow Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 71 yreas, Zada Proffitt Mansfield; one son Douglas Mansfield and wife Sheila of Hiawassee, GA.; one daughter Cynthia Goslee and husband Roland Kreager of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Brooke Mansfield and Tamie Pritchett of Hopkinsville, KY; Katie Goslee of Berkeley, CA, Chad Goslee of Brooklyn, NY and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl Wayne Mansfield and a sister Laverne Groce. The funeral service will be held at 1 PM October 16, 2009 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
