William A. Mattingly, age 73, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1942 in Grayson County, Kentucky, the son of Willard & Roberta Conder Mattingly. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a warehouse worker for Gates Rubber Company. He is survived by his wife, Freda Mattingly of Leitchfield, three children, Sherry Johnston (Steve), Tim Mattingly, & Lisa Pearl all of Leitchfield, two step-daughters, Sandi Mudd (Rick) of Caneyville & Cheryl Howell (William) Leitchfield, one sister, Eula Lucas (Ralph), five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Mattingly, one sister, Linda Dennis and one step grandchild, JT Mudd. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday (Nov. 11) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. James G. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Leitchfield. Visitation will be held after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday (Nov. 10) and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
