William Read

William Dudley Read 70 of Austin died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was the son of the late William Kempton Read and Nellie Mae Harrison Read. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother Faye Read, daughters Sheila Read Hernandez and Rita Read, brothers Jimmy and Joel W. Read, grandson Ethan Davis and a nephew Joel W. Read II. Mr. Read was self-employed in demolition and construction. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his horses, cattle and dogs. Survivors include his wife Mary; son Dougie Read and wife Shannon of Glasgow; daughter Sherry Davis and husband James of Austin; step-daughter Sherry Honshell, step-son Eddie Wayne Cardwell; a brother David Read and wife Billie of Glasgow; sisters Wanda Glass (Joe deceased) of Laurens, SC, of Glasgow and Amanda Garmon and husband Keith of Glasgow; sister-in-law Rita Read of Glasgow; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, November 14th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Mansfield Cemetery on the family farm. Visitation will begin at 5pm Thursday.
