Willie Syree

Willie Robert Syree 85 of Glasgow, died Monday night January 3, 2005 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Metcalfe County the son of the late Hayden and Virgie Maupin Syree. Mr. Syree was a self employed carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended the Grider Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Nellie Ruth; three daughters Patricia Taylor and husband Dean, Barbara 'Bobbie' Ramey and husband Franklin Dee, and Peggy Ramsey and husband George all of Glasgow; four grandchildren Regina Wimmer and husband Charles of Lexington, Dana Groce of Glasgow, Colitta Garrett and husband John of Glasgow and Willie D. Ramey and wife April of Louisville; three great grandchildren Tyler and Meghan Meadors of Glasgow and Hayden Wimmer of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. A brother Earl Syree and two sisters Opal Emberton and Tinie Basil preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday January 6, 2005 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00am Wednesday at the funeral home.
