Wilmer Smith

Wilmer Taylor Smith 87 of Glasgow died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Barren County Health Care Facility. He was born in Barren County the son of the late James Ader Smith and Ida Mae Thomas Smith. Mr. Smith was a farmer and was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church. More recently he had attended the Coral Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lois; a daughter Shirley Wells (Bruce) of Glasgow; a son Sam Smith (Mildred) of Glasgow; a step-daughter Junice Blair of Glasgow; 4 grandchildren Chris Smith (Donna), Greg Wells (Dina), David Wells and Beth Rogers (Dereck); 2 step-grandchildren Aaron Robertson and Frankie Rutherford; 5 great-grandchildren Autumn, Dru, Amanda, Cody and Collin; 1 sister Jessie Houchens of Glasgow; 3 brothers Cecil, Eagle and Randall Smith of Indiana; 2 sisters-in-law Gertrude Smith and Ann Dean of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Maurie England Smith,four sisters; Morrea Woodcock, Mildred England, Rose Smith, Opal May Smith and three brothers; Robert Garvin Smith, William 'Bill' Smith, and Eagle Fay Smith. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in the Poplar Log Cemetery Thursday at 9:00AM.
