Winifred Rebecca Pons of Glasgow died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at her residence. Born July 18, 1915 in Austerlitz, NY she was the daughter of the late Charles A. & Lida Bramhall Tracy and wife of the late Arthur A. Pons. Mrs. Pons moved to Glasgow in 1976 and enjoyed golf, bowling and water aerobics. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the T. J. Samson Auxiliary since 1981 and the Glasgow Musicale. She was a inspirational woman who happened to be 92. Survivors include a daughter the Rev. Sandra J. Pons Godich of Indianapolis, IN; two sons Charles T. Pons of Brookfield, IL and Larry F. Pons of Gladewater, TX; a sister Laura M. Hrudicka of Tacoma, WA; 9 grandchildren Robert Pons in the Navy, David A. Pons of Glasgow, Dawn Brown of Glasgow, Trevor Pons of TX, Jennifer Wilber of OR, Wendy Pons of CO, Jason Pons of TX, the Rev. Lori Bievenour of IN and Stephen Pons of IL and many great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a son the Rev. A. Allan Pons, a brother John E. Tracy and a sister Catherine E. Russell. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00am until 11:00am at the church. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow at 500 South Green St. Glasgow, KY 42141 or the American Cancer Society.
